The Special Education Needs Support Service (SENSS) consists of qualified, experienced teachers and support staff, who have all undertaken extensive training and gained additional qualifications in the educational needs of children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND).
Our friendly, approachable, specialist team support at all levels to enhance professional knowledge, skills and expertise based on the national and local education needs identified by schools for children and young people aged 0-25 years.

Learning Support Service
The Learning Support Service provides all primary and secondary settings within the Wakefield local authority area with an advisory teacher to support school-aged pupils with cognition, learning or language needs. We work with a range of cognitive difficulties including Severe and Moderate Learning Difficulties; Specific Learning Difficulties and Speech and Language needs where pupils have weak expressive or receptive vocabularies.
