OUR SERVICE - WORKING FOR YOU
Wakefield Council has been a Registered Body with the DBS since the introduction of CRB checks in March 2002.
We have a wide range of experience and knowledge of DBS legislation and processing of the relevant checks.
We have recently expanded our status to become an Umbrella Body and the Wakefield Council online system means we can now carry out online DBS checks for all our employees as well as our partner organisations.
Our Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) process is a quick, easy and secure means of obtaining a DBS check which allows employers to access the criminal record history of people working, or seeking to work, in certain positions, especially those that involve working with children or vulnerable adults and for other legislative requirements such as taxi licensing.
Wakefield Council offers employers an online DBS service and we are confident that this provides one of the fastest and simplest criminal record checking services available. Over 85% of Enhanced DBS checks are returned within 5 - 8 working days.*
*The turnaround time for DBS checks can take longer if you have a common name, have changed your name, have multiple addresses or if you have prior convictions.
