Developing the Role of the English Subject Leader - Network

Outline

Reflecting on the past academic year and planning for the next are essential to being a successful English subject lead. In this afternoon course, delegates will have the opportunity to spend time thinking about their role as English lead in their school.

Description

The first network meeting will focus on reflecting on the school year. We will look at how to write a subject leader report that outlines strengths and improvements and identifies any areas for development. We will think about how we can reflect on the impact of our leadership on the subject, and how we can use this as a starting point for shaping our vision for English for the next academic year. We will also look at how to analyse the end of year data, and how we can use our data analysis to write an action plan for the next academic year. Teachers will have an opportunity for networking with schools from across the authority.
