Food Safety in Catering Level 2 (HABC Awards)


Everyone who works with food has a responsibility to ensure that the food they serve or sell is safe to eat. Our Environmental Health Officers highly recommend that candidates retake the course every three years to ensure knowledge and skills are kept up-to-date and to take account of any changes in legislation and practice.


This course is specifically for anyone working in catering who prepares, cooks and directly handles food. It includes;

An Introduction to food safety and the law
The Food Hygiene Rating scheme and how to achieve the highest rating of 5
An In-depth understanding of food safety risks
The 4 C's of Cooking, Cooling, Cleaning and Cross Contamination
The importance of record keeping and making checks
